Job summary

Blue Star Families is a national nonprofit dedicated to improving military family life through research-informed programs and community connections.

The Director of Development, National Capital Region Chapter, will lead local fundraising, cultivate donor relationships, and build partnerships to sustain growth. Remote work with periodic travel to engage supporters and events, reporting to the Chapter Executive Director.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience with major gifts and donor engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Director with local fundraising strategy to meet revenue goals.
• Meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal of at least $100,000.
• Build and manage a portfolio of 30+ major gift prospects through donor lifecycle.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and foundations.
• Collaborate with national Development team on funding opportunities.
