Job summary

NC Local is seeking an experienced fundraiser and development leader to build and grow our philanthropic program, focusing on major gifts and individual giving. You will own fundraising strategy, cultivate a portfolio of major donors, and partner with the CEO to develop our donor program and secure institutional funders.

You’ll also build and direct our development team, work with the membership manager on strategies, and collaborate across editorial, operations, and leadership to advance NC

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of nonprofit fundraising experience with increasing responsibility.
• Proven track record closing individual gifts in the five and six figures.
• Experience raising money from individuals and foundations.
• Excellent written communications for donor proposals and letters.
• Experience leading a fundraising team and developing processes.
• Familiar with CRMs and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead major gifts program from the ground up.
• Manage portfolio of major donors and prospects ($5,000+ annually).
• Create and direct campaigns to drive transformational gifts.
• Develop donor stewardship and reporting programs.
• Hire, onboard and develop the development team; supervise progress and workflow.
• Partner with CEO and Board to grow giving and manage board relationships.
