Job summary

NC Local, a state-wide nonprofit newsroom, is seeking an experienced fundraiser and development strategist to lead and grow philanthropic efforts, with emphasis on major donors. The role includes building a development team, partnering with the CEO and Board, and shaping donor-centered strategies to sustain growth for a statewide audience.

The position is remote, NC-based, with travel across the state for industry convenings and team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Build our major gifts program from the ground up and develop it as a primary revenue source.
• Develop and carry a portfolio of major donors and prospects (> $5,000 annually).
• Create and direct campaigns that drive transformational gifts for major initiatives.
• Lead the development team and supervise progress toward fundraising goals.
• Work with CEO and Board to grow giving and align with growth strategy.
• Prepare concept notes, proposals, donor reports and donor materials.
