Job summary

SkyePoint Decisions seeks a Development and Automation Lead to provide technical leadership for secure software and automation capabilities supporting the DoED FSA program. The role focuses on SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, security testing, and release practices while driving automation across development, cybersecurity, data, and workflow activities.

The position is remote and contingent on contract win, with collaboration across government stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• 10+ years in software development, engineering, DevSecOps, automation, or related field.
• CISSP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience leading complex software/automation initiatives.
• Experience with enterprise software design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Strong secure SDLC and DevSecOps knowledge.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, SCM, automated testing, and release automation.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and automated delivery.
• Experience with IaC and configuration automation.
• Experience integrating automated security testing and vulnerability management into pipelines.
• Experience with APIs, distributed apps, databases, and cloud-based solutions.
• Proficiency in modern programming/scripting languages for automation.
• Ability to translate business/technical requirements into maintainable software/automation.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to convey complex concepts to government, engineering, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders.
• Active Secret clearance (6c Public Trust eligibility) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for development and automation supporting FSA systems and cybersecurity capabilities.
• Lead design, development, integration, testing, deployment, operation, and sustainment of secure software and automated solutions.
• Achieve reporting and transparency metrics including compliance dashboards and response times.
• Spearhead SDLC and DevSecOps practices across development and automation.
• Translate requirements into actionable priorities and drive automation solutions.
• Establish standards for development, secure coding, automated testing, and release management.
• Drive automation of repetitive development, security, compliance, testing, deployment, and evidence collection processes.
• Lead CI/CD implementation with automated builds, tests, security checks, and deployment.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders for delivery.
• Incorporate security testing and vulnerability management into pipelines.
