Job summary

Mapbox is seeking a Developer Relations Manager to lead our developer relations strategy and grow a global Mapbox developer community. You’ll guide a team, build scalable programs, and stay hands-on with technical content and demos to showcase map-powered apps.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to align priorities, advocate for developers, and improve the developer experience across web APIs, SDKs, and geospatial tech.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Developer Relations or related field, including 3+ years of leadership.
• Strong people leadership skills with coaching and priority setting.
• Experience building and executing Developer Relations strategies.
• Technical background with APIs, SDKs, developer tools, and workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for developers.
• Experience delivering talks, demos, workshops, webinars, or tutorials.
• Ability to build authentic relationships in developer communities.
• Cross-functional influence across Product, Engineering, Marketing.
• Ability to move between strategy and hands-on execution.
• Data-driven with metrics to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Comfort across web APIs, SDKs, geospatial tech, data, and mobile.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Developer Relations strategy for Mapbox.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Developer Relations team.
• Build a developer community that uses Mapbox tech for maps, navigation, and experiences.
• Develop scalable programs across technical content, events, demos, and forums.
• Remain hands-on by creating technical content and delivering talks/demos.
• Identify opportunities to improve products, docs, and developer experience.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales to align programs.
• Build programs for internal engineers to share expertise with developers.
• Establish goals and metrics; use data to guide investments.
• Scale Developer Relations through processes, tooling, and partnerships.
