Job summary

Mapbox, a leader in real-time location platform, seeks a Software Development Engineer II for the Navigation API team. You will balance rapid development with service reliability as you scale across markets and use cases.

You will write robust application code, build and deploy microservices, and drive continuous delivery, while mentoring teammates and contributing to a culture of operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building scalable high volume low latency backend services.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript (backend), AWS (CDK/ECS/Step Functions/Lambda/S3).
• Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as GitHub.
• Ability to engage, learn and contribute quickly to initiatives.
• Able to perform independently all development tasks based on designs and specs.
• Self-starter who is communication and outcomes-oriented.
• Analytical approach with hypotheses, spikes, and clear findings.
• Desire to share expertise through documentation, mentorship, pairing.
• Interest in collaborating with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
