Job summary

JCTM, a U.S.-based contractor for the Coast Guard, seeks a Desktop Publisher Specialist to support the production, editing, formatting, and finalization of publications in a high-volume environment. The role requires mastery of editing and layout tools, strong written English, and experience applying templates and standards to deliver polished, compliant materials across the publishing lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of desktop publishing or technical editing experience
• Strong command of English grammar and business writing
• Experience with accessibility (Section 508) and plain language is a plus
• Familiarity with Coast Guard or federal publishing environments is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare, edit, and format directives, forms, and messages using templates
• Edit for grammar, readability, and technical writing
• Ensure correct template usage and standards compliance
• Support publication processing, version control, and reviews
• Maintain publication metadata and archives
• Track production and reporting metrics
