Job summary

Darkroom is seeking a Design Director to lead high‑quality UI/UX and brand work for ecommerce brands. You will own multiple engagements, collaborate with developers, and guide a design team to deliver scalable brand identities across paid media, emails, landing pages, and product pages.

You will work with a cross‑functional team in a fast-paced, remote‑first environment, reporting to the Director of Creative.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of senior-level web design experience with e-commerce.
• Strong portfolio of web design and branding.
• Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Able to lead client discovery calls and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead 1–3 UI/UX engagements for branded e‑commerce sites.
• Manage design projects from discovery to hand-off with developers.
• Develop component systems and scalable design guidelines.
• Manage a design team (2–4 direct reports) with weekly 1:1s.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and development to align design with business goals.
