Enercon Services, Inc. seeks a Distribution Planning Engineer to lead DER impact studies and support planning for safe, reliable grid integration of solar, storage and EV resources.

You will work on hosting capacity, voltage, thermal loading, and protection coordination while advancing grid modernization efforts. The role emphasizes modeling accuracy, scenario analysis, and clear technical communication for internal teams and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Typically requires 6 years of experience in electric utility distribution planning with DER focus.
• Strong understanding of distribution system operations, protection and planning principles.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (WindMil, CYME, Synergi).
• Familiarity with IEEE 1547, FERC and NERC interconnection standards.
• PE license preferred and hosting capacity/locational value analysis experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead DER impact studies including hosting capacity, voltage regulation, thermal loading and protection coordination.
• Model and simulate distribution systems using WindMil, CYME, Synergi; maintain models and run scenario analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders and filings.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improvements in planning processes and methodologies.
