Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for deploying software upgrades, patches, and fixes remotely using the BD Remote Services Support (RSS) and BD Provision Portal software solutions on customer medical devices. The position will be accountable for working cross-functionally in a team environment across multiple geographies and time zones.

Job Description
I. Department Overview

The BD Technology & Engineering team provides technical system recommendations/requirements to BD’s customers and assists with deploying servers and software for local projects. Remote Upgrade Specialists remotely upgrade medical device software in waves, perform system health checks, device preparation, and troubleshooting, collaborating with project teams, customers, support centers, and development teams as needed.

II. Purpose

Responsible for deploying software upgrades, patches, and fixes remotely using BD RSS and BD Provision Portal on customer medical devices, working cross-functionally across geographies and time zones.

III. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities
  • Assist MMS with Field Action execution, including customer notifications, acknowledgment forms, and follow-ups.
  • Ensure all project records are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant BD policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support BD product teams to complete remediation projects successfully.
  • Build effective relationships across functions and locations.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in work delivery.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
  • Maintain emotional awareness and professionalism.
  • Follow procedures in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Assist in developing processes and procedures to support department strategies.
  • Identify workflow improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain reporting tools and track metrics diligently.
  • Seek initiatives to broaden skills and support organizational capabilities.
  • Develop and update process documentation.
  • Assist in peer training as needed.
IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Communication: Participate in conference calls, establish rapport with customers, support team with product expertise, share feedback, and communicate change effectively.

Technical: Communicate health check results, troubleshoot, deploy software remotely, collaborate on specifications, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.

Administrative: Contribute to documentation, participate in projects, work independently, ensure timely documentation, and improve processes.

V. Qualifications
  • Background in Computer Science, Technology, Healthcare, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of applied experience.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong technical orientation, experience with application deployment, troubleshooting, and understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, cloud computing, SQL, and remote access tools.
VI. Other
  • Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends; ability to work remotely.
