Job summary

Defcon AI seeks a senior leader to build and lead our defense growth organization as VP of Defense Solutions & Growth. You will identify mission challenges, work directly with government stakeholders to define solutions, and guide new opportunities from concept through award.

The role requires translating customer problems into executable concepts and collaborating with technical teams to create pilots, programs, and offerings.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of defense, national security, government, consulting, or tech leadership experience.
• Experience identifying and developing opportunities within the DoD.
• Strong understanding of defense missions, planning, acquisition, and funding.
• Proven ability to engage senior leaders and uncover needs not yet formalized.
• Experience developing solution concepts and business cases for complex challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead defense growth strategy and business solutions activities.
• Engage with senior military, civilian, and industry stakeholders to identify challenges and unmet needs.
• Translate customer problems into executable solution concepts, even before formal requirements.
• Collaborate with technical teams to shape offerings, pilots, and programs.
• Develop and manage a pipeline across contracts, OTAs, SBIRs, and other pathways.
• Lead opportunity shaping and capture from early engagement through award.
• Establish and manage strategic relationships with government and industry partners.
• Advise leadership on market trends and long-term growth opportunities.
• Build and lead a high-performing growth organization.
