Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Database Administrator 1 to support the Public Safety Delivery Center, Solutions Management, providing data tools for the State Police and partners. The role emphasizes design, development, and secure, reliable operations across critical systems.

Responsibilities include modeling, querying, monitoring, and guidance for teams, with telework up to three days weekly and a standard 8:00–16:00 schedule in Harrisburg. PA residency is required.

Qualifications

• One year as a Database Analyst or IT generalist role equivalent.
• Five years of IT experience including two years in database design/maintenance for DBA support.
• Three years of IT experience including two years in database design/maintenance with an associate degree in IT.
• One year of IT experience with a bachelor's degree in IT.

Responsibilities

• Database Design: Create and refine database structures to support applications and reporting.
• Development Support: Guide data modeling and documentation with development teams.
• Data Analysis: Build queries/tools to help teams understand information and support reporting.
• Operational Monitoring: Track performance, security, and availability for daily operations.
• Technical Guidance: Assist staff with database requirements and issue resolution.
• System Maintenance: Support upgrades, migrations, and backup processes.
