Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Database/Software Developer to design, develop, and modernize data-driven applications for the FAA’s Aeronautical Information Services. You will work with FAA stakeholders to implement new capabilities, modernize legacy systems, and improve workflows in a remote/telework-friendly role based in the U.S.

Midwest region. The position emphasizes independent work with technical leadership, strong SQL and relational database skills, and experience across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant professional experience; substitutions possible.
• Extensive experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise software.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and advanced SQL.
• Developing complex database-driven web, desktop, or enterprise applications.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and translating requirements into solutions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain data-driven software applications supporting aeronautical information distribution.
• Perform ad hoc development for special projects and Aeronautical Data Team needs.
• Configure and integrate COTS applications evaluated or deployed by the team.
• Develop software solutions to modernize or augment legacy systems.
• Assist in evaluating, testing, and validating COTS apps prior to deployment.
• Gather requirements from users and stakeholders and document them clearly.
• Design, develop, and maintain relational database structures and interfaces.
• Translate business needs into scalable, secure software solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Create technical documentation covering designs, schemas, and procedures.
