Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Database / Software Developer to support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aeronautical Information Services. You will design, develop, test, and implement data-driven software to manage aeronautical information for FAA customers, and modernize legacy applications.

The role involves working with FAA stakeholders to gather requirements, develop scalable solutions, and provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, information technology, or related field; 8+ years of experience may substitute.
• Extensive experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise software applications.
• Proficient in modern languages/frameworks such as C#, .NET, Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
• Strong SQL skills: queries, stored procedures, views, schemas across SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSQL.
• Experience building complex, database-driven web, desktop, or enterprise apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain data-driven software applications for aeronautical information distribution.
• Lead software development activities, troubleshoot complex app and database issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate and integrate COTS products; modernize legacy applications and implement new workflows.
• Collaborate with FAA stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the software lifecycle.
