Job summary

Paycom - ATS in the United States is seeking a Database Lead who oversees a SQL Developer team while actively designing and optimizing SQL Server database solutions that support ERP and business apps. This role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and well-monitored software.

You will lead performance reviews, mentor developers, and drive coding standards, while hands-on developing tables, procedures, ETL/SSIS, SSRS, and BI reporting for Power BI.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in application and database development.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or directing developers.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL skills with complex joins and window functions.
• Experience with SQL Server (2014-2022) and SSRS/SSIS.
• Experience with Power BI and data visualization tools.
• Background in Windows and Linux server environments.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in data lakes (Snowflake) and modern data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the SQL Developer team, prioritizing work and setting expectations.
• Own performance management, 1:1s, and career development.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship.
• Lead code reviews and establish coding standards and best practices.
• Onboard and train new developers on systems and domain knowledge.
• Design scalable SQL Server architectures supporting ERP and apps.
• Develop data models,ETL/ELT processes, and database objects.
• Monitor performance, tuning, and data integrity across environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including BI, infra, and apps.
• Support data lake initiatives and Snowflake deployments.
