Qualifications

• Two to four years of related database administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SQL, database configuration, performance monitoring and tuning, access controls, backups and recovery procedures.
• Troubleshooting application/database integration and supporting upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
• Knowledge of data ingestion, data integrity validation, information protection, and cloud database operations.
• Ability to maintain operational documentation and coordinate with developers, data stewards, system administrators, and security personnel.
• A relevant database administration or cloud database certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor mission application databases and cloud services to maintain performance, availability, and secure operation.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and perfective database maintenance; troubleshoot failures and legacy integration issues.
• Plan, test, and implement database patches, upgrades, configuration changes, and emergency fixes.
• Support remediation of high database vulnerabilities within timelines prescribed by security guidance.
• Maintain backups and recovery procedures; validate restoration and data loss prevention planning.
• Manage database access and configurations in coordination with system owners and security personnel.
• Support data ingestion and collaborate with data owners to address integrity and protection issues.
• Monitor utilization and capacity, tune performance, and optimize cloud resources for changing demand.
• Maintain logs, SOPs, and security authorization evidence, including monthly scan/reporting inputs.
• Coordinate change implementation and deployment support with the CISA Technology Operations Center.
