Job summary

AttainX, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator II to maintain the reliability, performance, security, and availability of databases supporting OBP mission applications. This role focuses on cloud-based operations and data protection within a DHS-CISA context.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of DB admin experience, with a BS in CS/IT or equivalent, and strong SQL skills. The position offers remote work within the US and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of database administration experience with cloud-hosted services.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/IT or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SQL, configuration, monitoring, backups, and recovery.
• Experience troubleshooting app/database integration and upgrades/patches.
• Knowledge of data ingestion, data integrity, information protection, and cloud DB operations.
• Ability to coordinate with developers, data stewards, system admins, and security personnel.
• A relevant database administration or cloud database certification is preferred.
• Ability to satisfy government background investigation and security access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor mission databases and cloud services for performance and secure operation.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and perfective maintenance; troubleshoot failures and integration issues.
• Plan, test, and implement approved database patches, upgrades, configuration changes, and emergency fixes.
• Support remediation of critical vulnerabilities within timelines prescribed by CISA guidance.
• Maintain database backups and recovery procedures; validate restoration and support data loss prevention.
• Manage database access and approved configurations with system owners and security personnel.
• Support data ingestion and work with data owners to address integrity and protection issues.
• Monitor utilization and capacity; tune performance and optimize cloud resources.
• Maintain maintenance logs, configuration records, SOPs, and security evidence including monthly reporting inputs.
• Coordinate change implementation and deployment support with the CISA Technology Operations Center.
• Other related duties as assigned.
