Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator to support a data-centric architecture leveraging cloud computing and AI/ML for the DoD and IC enterprise. The role involves ETL development, database design, security controls, and CI/CD automation to sustain data exploitation and analytics capabilities.

You will work with a highly technical team in a fast-paced environment, handling on-premises and cloud databases, and participating in SCRUM events to deliver robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA); must have Security+ and cloud certifications to qualify for access.
• 3+ years administering databases including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
• 3+ years of database scripting using interface tools including command line interfaces.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing database schema, data models, and performance tuning.
• Experience administering databases both on-premises and on cloud platforms.
• Experience monitoring database health and SLAs.
• Experience with a highly technical team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience data access segregation and security controls; POAMs for vulnerabilities.
• Experience managing multiple database instances across environments.
• Experience managing multiple data connections and interfaces.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to develop ETL solutions for diverse datasets.
• Administer, maintain, upgrade, and optimize databases to reduce technical debt.
• Design, maintain, and optimize database schemas and data models.
• Participate in design sessions to understand POSTMAN data store interactions.
• Document database design, implementation, and integrations with other systems.
• Define data export/import formats and structures.
• Define APIs for data sharing including endpoints and security.
• Manage multiple database instances across environments for consistency.
• Support CI/CD, code promotion, and deployment operations.
• Participate in daily scrums and program increment planning.
