Job summary

SMASH is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to design and implement enterprise analytics solutions on Azure SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric. You will lead ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and performance tuning to deliver reliable reporting and insights.

Responsibilities include building scalable data warehouses, optimizing SSIS and ADF pipelines, and collaborating with business stakeholders to meet reporting needs. Remote role with Costa Rica work-permit requirement.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for querying, optimization, and data transformation.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience developing solutions using Azure SQL Server.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience applying Inmon methodology for data warehouse design.
• Experience applying Kimball methodology with star schema modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes using SSIS, ADF, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation processes.
• Support inbound and outbound data warehouse integrations for business-critical systems.
• Design and implement dimensional data models using Inmon and Kimball methodologies.
• Develop and maintain Azure SQL Server databases supporting reporting workloads.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across reporting environments.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to meet reporting requirements.
• Troubleshoot and optimize ETL processes and reporting performance.
• Document data models, ETL workflows, and integration processes.
