Job summary

TechRuiter is seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect for a remote, part-time advisory role with Azure expertise. The position focuses on designing, optimizing, and supporting cloud data architectures, including Azure Data Factory and Fabric environments. 25 hours/month with a monthly 2-hour onsite session in Southern California.

You will guide implementations, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate on Power BI reporting solutions while providing mentorship as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in Power BI for reporting and visualization.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time advisory capacity.
• Approx. 25 hours per month (about 6 hours per week).
• One onsite meeting per month in Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable Azure-based data solutions.
• Work extensively with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory and related data services.
• Support and guide implementation within Microsoft Fabric environments.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models.
• Collaborate on reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and mentorship (Fabric trainee-level support as needed).
• Participate in a monthly onsite session (~2 hours) in Southern California.
