Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a Business Data Specialist to develop and support data products that power operational reporting, compliance, and analytics. You will partner with Data Engineering, Data Governance, and business teams to ensure accurate, maintainable data assets and documented lineage.

Qualifications

• Five (5) to Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience with data analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Demonstrated experience communicating with various stakeholders including teachers and school leaders
• MS365 proficient
• Experience in developing reports and/or dashboards with MS Access, MS Power BI, Excel
• Knowledge of programming standards and techniques, ideally with SQL
• Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Travel availability to 10% of time
• Ability to clear required background check

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance domain-specific data products and data models using dbt and Snowflake to support reporting, analytics, compliance, funding, and business processes.
• Partner with the Data Domains team to identify and incorporate enterprise data to support data products.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while balancing immediate needs with maintainability.
• Design and implement solutions for complex ad hoc data requests and reusable data assets.
• Validate data quality, reconciliation, and root cause analysis for production data integrity.
• Investigate data quality and production issues and coordinate sustainable fixes with cross-functional teams.
• Design and maintain configuration-driven solutions and ensure validation of dependent settings.
• Develop deep understanding of how configurations drive logic and reporting for accurate data reflection.
• Ensure data models are traceable and well-documented with metadata, testing, and lineage for auditability.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including data definitions and validation procedures.
