Job summary

SHI is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Solutions Engineer to design, build, and deliver enterprise-grade data platforms using Microsoft Azure and Fabric. You will work with Solution Engineers, Project Managers, and client stakeholders to implement secure, scalable data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.

The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with initial work on state-level public sector and regulated industry projects.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience delivering modern data engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure and Fabric.
• Strong engineering foundation with data pipelines, lakehouse/warehouse architectures, and relational data platforms.
• Experience designing and operating production data platforms, including data modeling, incremental processing, and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of data security, governance, and compliance concepts, including identity-based access and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric and related services.
• Build and optimize data lakehouse and warehouse solutions in Azure and Fabric for scalable, secure analytics.
• Develop data models, ETL/ELT processes, and historical data versioning for multi-source datasets.
• Configure and manage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 environments, including lifecycle management and archiving.
• Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to prepare data for reporting, analytics, and AI workloads.
• Apply security best practices including encryption and identity-based access control, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, PII, and NIST 800-53.
