Job summary

Westport Properties is seeking an Associate Data Scientist to develop data-driven solutions for strategic decisions and operational efficiency. The role involves working with structured and unstructured data to build predictive models and automate workflows, using Python, SQL Server, and ML techniques.

You will distill insights from data, collaborate across departments, and contribute to AI/LLM initiatives while adhering to project deadlines and the company attendance policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, or similar from an accredited college or university is required.
• Equivalent work experience, internships, or projects may be substituted for educational requirements.
• 2+ years of on-the-job experience in data analytics and/or data science preferred or an advanced degree equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our data science platform, including tools for predictive modeling, automation, and machine learning.
• Build internal applications and processes that support statistical analysis, natural language processing, and data-driven decision-making across departments.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines that support modeling and reporting, leveraging data from our business intelligence systems and external sources.
• AI/LLM usage, distillation, and ablation to support corporate AI systems and productivity
• Regular worksite attendance in accordance with Company’s Attendance Policy is required for this position.
• Periodic special projects and duties may be assigned based on Company need and requirements.
• Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, with frequent interruptions or distractions and within tight deadlines.
