Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Diego, CA is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a focused team enhancing how players pay, subscribe, and recover from payment failures. You will own the team’s scientific roadmap and mentor data scientists while partnering with product, engineering, finance, marketing, and operations to turn business questions into evidence-based recommendations.

This is a technical, first-line management role where you review experiments, metrics, models, and code;

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data science or related field with experimentation.
• 2+ years people management or technical leadership.
• Strong experimentation and measurement background for digital products.
• Fluent in SQL and Python; review code and guide models.
• Prioritize cross-functional work and communicate recommendations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, onboard, and develop a team of data scientists.
• Own roadmap, intake, prioritization, capacity, and stakeholder alignment.
• Define decisions, hypotheses, success metrics, and action plans.
• Guide experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, and modeling.
• Review designs, analytical code, data quality, and recommendations.
• Coach scientists to strengthen judgment and communication.
• Set standards for reproducible analysis and reusable workflows.
• Communicate recommendations and impact to partners.
