Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) is seeking a Data Science Manager for Payments & Subscriptions in San Diego. This leadership role will guide a team focused on improving how players pay, subscribe, and recover from payment failures.

You will own the scientific roadmap, mentor data scientists, and partner with product, engineering, finance, and marketing to translate business questions into evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data science or related quantitative field.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Experience in experimentation, causal inference, measurement, or model development.
• Fluency in SQL and Python; able to review analytical code and guide design.
• Ability to prioritize cross-functional work and communicate clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, onboard, and develop a team of data scientists supporting commerce, payments, subscriptions, and lifecycle portfolio.
• Own the team's roadmap, intake, prioritization, capacity planning, and stakeholder alignment.
• Partner with business and technical leaders to define decisions, hypotheses, metrics, and recommendations.
• Guide experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, and modeling to improve payment and subscription outcomes.
• Review experimental designs, analytical code, data quality, and model assumptions; contribute to complex problems.
• Coach data scientists to strengthen scientific judgment and stakeholder influence; enable independent ownership.
• Establish reproducible analysis standards and collaborate with Data Engineering and ML Engineering.
• Communicate recommendations and influence actions with confidence and clarity.
