Job summary

Help for Heroes is seeking a Senior Manager - Legal and Compliance to lead governance, legal, compliance and data protection across the charity. The role includes acting as the Data Protection Officer and advising on contractual and operational matters while shaping the organisation's governance framework.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, manage a small team, and drive risk management with a pragmatic, commercially aware approach in a charity context.

Qualifications

• Experience as governance, legal, compliance or data protection professional.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for the business.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Experience in charity or regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as named Data Protection Officer and provide practical legal advice across commercial and operational matters.
• Help shape governance and compliance framework to enable safe and ethical operation.
• Advise on regulatory and data protection issues and simplify complex concepts for teams.
• Review and negotiate commercial contracts and partnerships.
• Develop governance processes and oversee fraud prevention activities.
