Job summary

The Legal Aid Agency is seeking an experienced data protection and information security professional to lead assurance, governance and incident response. You will protect information assets, advise on DPIAs, and promote a strong security culture across the agency.

The role includes policy updates, staff training, site audits, and travel to England and Wales sites. It may involve line management of up to two EO staff and close collaboration with MoJ and other government bodies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a data protection or information security role.
• Experience applying data protection legislation and ICO guidance to organisational processes.
• Experience or ability to support incident management and briefing managers or senior leaders about incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on data protection legislation and information security.
• Respond to complex queries and support governance with DPIAs and Data Sharing Agreements.
• Lead or contribute to security incidents and maintain incident records.
