Job summary

Tessera Labs is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to build software that connects enterprise systems and makes data usable across applications, analytics, and AI. You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering and data systems, creating reusable capabilities for connecting to, querying, moving, and processing data.

This role is open to remote candidates, with a preference for those based in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer.
• Strong Python and SQL, with production software experience.
• Experience building backend services and data platform components.
• Familiarity with relational databases, query optimization, and data formats.
• Experience with concurrent or distributed workloads.

Responsibilities

• Build core data platform capabilities and APIs for data access and ingestion.
• Develop connector frameworks to support multiple systems.
• Improve performance and resource efficiency in querying and data movement.
• Own execution reliability with orchestration, retries, and observability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to define interfaces and deploy to production.
