Job summary

Tessera Labs is a remote-friendly role seeking a Data Platform Engineer to build software that connects enterprise systems and makes data usable across applications, analytics, and AI.

You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering and data systems, building reusable capabilities for connecting to, querying, moving, and processing data.

This role is open to remote candidates, with a preference for those based in the Bay Area, offering opportunities to shape data infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL experience building production software.
• Experience with backend services and data platforms beyond configuration pipelines.
• Experience with concurrent or distributed workloads, failure handling, and performance debugging.

Responsibilities

• Build core data platform capabilities: APIs for data access, query execution, ingestion, and synchronization.
• Develop reusable connector frameworks and abstractions for different systems.
• Improve performance through partitioning, parallelism, and memory/storage management.
• Own reliability: orchestration, retries, checkpointing, observability to ensure data correctness.
