Job summary

Tessera Labs is building an AI-powered automation platform for the enterprise, delivering scalable backend systems and seamless integrations with major enterprise software like SAP, Salesforce, and Workday.

The Backend Engineer (Mid-Level) will design, implement, and maintain distributed backend services, APIs, and data pipelines in a fast-paced startup environment. You will collaborate across frontend, AI, and product teams to ship reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years backend development experience focusing on APIs, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in Python with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and data modelling best practices.
• Familiarity with Redis, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub), and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob).
• Understanding of API authentication, security, and scalability principles.
• Strong debugging, testing, and performance optimization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Build reliable microservices for data processing, automation workflows, and AI system integrations.
• Implement and optimize database schemas, queries, and caching for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy and maintain cloud-based services on AWS or GCP.
• Ensure security with OAuth2, RBAC, and SSO; follow code quality and testing practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend architecture improvements.
