Job summary

Alt is building real-time pricing at scale for the $5B trading-card market. You’ll own ingestion pipelines that fetch and normalize data from major marketplaces, ensuring latency, coverage, and quality for Alt Value.

You’ll design reusable components, monitor sources, and collaborate with pricing, ML, and analytics to feed dashboards and analytics. You will work in a remote-first environment, contribute to an end-to-end data stack, and drive cost-efficient, reliable data infrastructure to power

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in data engineering or a closely adjacent role.
• Modern web scraping at scale using Playwright or comparable tools; ability to impersonate a real browser.
• Strong Python (3+ years) and SQL for analysis and transformation.
• Own end-to-end data pipelines you built and maintained.
• Judgment on generalization vs bespoke approaches for sources.
• Experience with DAG-based orchestration (Airflow, Dagster) and cloud development (AWS, GCP).
• Experience with LLM-based extraction and processing at scale.
• Startup experience; pace and changing roadmaps.
• Bias towards incremental delivery over perfect rebuild.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and own ingestion pipelines for transaction and listing data from major marketplaces.
• Generalize ingestion stack (auth, retries, session, proxy, monitoring) and build reusable components.
• Develop monitoring/alerting for latency, uptime, and coverage; alert on quiet sources.
• Modernize storage/processing to reduce manual work and improve cost-efficiency.
• Coordinate with pricing, ML, product, and analytics teams to deliver clean, standardized data.
