Job summary

Alt is unlocking the value of alternative assets with real-time pricing for trading cards. We seek an ML Engineer to own our core pricing model, automate cash-advance decisions, and optimize risk and market valuation tools. You will own the ML lifecycle, collaborate with domain experts, and scale infrastructure for cost efficiency.

You will work in a fast-paced startup, contributing hands-on as we build from zero to scale, with equity and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of total engineering experience with at least 4-5 years of direct machine learning experience.
• Strong Python proficiency with libraries like scikit-learn, XGBoost, and pandas.
• Solid ML Ops and cloud infrastructure experience, deploying models on AWS.
• Experience with data orchestration using Airflow for model training.
• Familiarity with ensemble methods and pricing/underwriting models in marketplaces.

Responsibilities

• Optimize pricing model to reduce infrastructure costs while preserving accuracy for high value cards.
• Iterate underwriting model to maximize cash disbursements while controlling risk.
• Lead full ML lifecycle from training to production deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Expert Pricers to deepen domain expertise and improve models.
• Design experiments and backtests to validate new features and improve predictive power.
• Own the model's AWS infrastructure and code pricing API for scalable, low-latency service.
