Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer for the Data side of its AI team. You will oversee data collection to support model training, building datasets at petabyte-scale, and integrating infrastructure with research. You will join a distributed team across the globe.

The role requires a CS degree (BS/MS/PhD) and 5+ years of software development experience, plus Bash/Python, Docker, Terraform, and GCP expertise.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers, large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and Terraform.
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality for next-generation models.
• Help craft the AI Team's dataset roadmap to power Speechify's products.
