Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer to own all aspects of data collection for model training. You will build high-quality datasets at petabyte scale by tightly integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research, enabling next-generation AI models and products.

The ideal candidate will have strong software development experience, proficiency in bash/Python, and hands-on work with Docker, Terraform, and cloud services, especially GCP.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field required
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with GCP
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find and ingest new sources of audio data into the ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline (GCP, Terraform)
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to improve cost/throughput/quality for data at scale
• Contribute to dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s next-generation products
