Job summary

Speechify is hiring for the Data side of its AI team to own data collection and support model training. You will build high-quality datasets at petabyte scale by integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research work.

This role focuses on data ingestion, cloud-based pipelines, and collaboration with scientists to improve data quality and cost efficiency. Ideal candidates have strong CS background and 5+ years in software development, with Bash/Python on Linux, and experience with Docker and

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry software development experience.
• Proficiency with bash and Python in Linux environments.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP) and IaC concepts.
• Familiarity with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with our Scientists to shift the cost/throughput/quality frontier, delivering richer data at bigger scale and lower cost to power our next-generation models.
• Collaborate with others on the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to craft the AI Team’s dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
