Job summary

Dune is hiring for a data foundation engineer to own how blockchain data enters, is represented, and delivered externally. You’ll work on large distributed data systems, balance scaling patterns, and handle end-to-end design from concept to production.

You’ll be the engineer transforming ambiguous product requirements into concrete designs, and you'll mentor teammates in a fully distributed team. This role emphasizes architecture, performance, and cross-stack collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals and ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Experience designing and shipping distributed data systems.
• Comfort with ambiguity and communicating trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Turn product requirements into technical requirements and workflows.
• Break large problems into components engineers can own and ship early.
• Drive high-impact architectural decisions across the data platform.
• Work across the stack (Go, Kotlin, Rust, Python) choosing the right tool.
• Design for correctness and performance under large-scale ingestion and storage.
• Raise the bar on design reviews and testing, and mentor the team.
