Job summary

Versant Media, LLC, a leader in sports and entertainment data platforms, seeks a Data Engineer II to build and scale data pipelines for GolfNow and Sports Next. You’ll work with data engineers, software engineers, product teams, and analytics partners to deliver reliable data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and product experiences.

The role is fully remote with occasional in-person collaboration (~10%) to strengthen team alignment and project planning.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering experience in cloud environments.
• Strong SQL and Python for ETL/ELT pipelines and data handling.
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and pipeline orchestration best practices.
• Experience with AWS data services (Glue/Lambda/Step Functions) and orchestration tools like Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations across AWS and Microsoft technologies, following established architecture and engineering standards.
• Develop and enhance data models and warehouse structures supporting analytics and BI use cases.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, identify root causes, and improve data quality and reliability.
• Partner with engineering, product, and analytics teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to data quality, governance, testing, and documentation across the data lifecycle.
• Participate in design discussions and evaluate tools and practices to improve efficiency and scalability.
