Job summary

itD is seeking a Data Engineer III to design, build, and optimize scalable data infrastructure for reliable analytics and data-driven decision-making across cross-functional teams. Strong expertise in ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and production-ready datasets is required.

Remote (U.S.) with Bay Area, Seattle, or New York City candidates welcome. Duration: 6 months. Direct W2 employment with comprehensive benefits and a path to hybrid onsite as offices reopen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (Presto, Hive, SparkSQL).
• Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
• Build and maintain dashboards, reporting solutions, and production-ready datasets that enable self-service analytics.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and warehouse structures to improve performance, scalability, and data quality.
• Partner with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to validate metrics, ensure data integrity, and support analytical initiatives.
• Monitor data pipeline health, troubleshoot production issues, implement alerting, and maintain service-level expectations.
• Create and maintain well-documented data assets, including data models, pipeline documentation, and operational processes.
• Support ad hoc data requests while continuously improving data architecture, reporting capabilities, and engineering best practices.
