Nelnet is seeking a Data Pipeline Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines on Google Cloud for GenAI use cases. You will classify and govern data, ensure access controls, and partner with engineers to surface data readiness and risk areas for higher education and public sector clients.

The role emphasizes building scalable ELT/ETL processes, collaborating with GCP/Gemini teams, and maintaining data quality across pipelines while balancing hybrid in-office and remote work

Qualifications

Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ELT/ETL for analytics or GenAI on a major cloud data platform.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and Dataflow.
Ingest, transform, and serve client data for GenAI use cases.
Monitor pipeline reliability, performance, and cost.
Define data models and schemas for reusable patterns.
Partner with client technical teams to understand data access constraints.
Conduct data quality reviews and testing to ensure reliability.
