Job summary

PadSplit is rapidly expanding its analytics platform and seeks a hands-on Data Engineer to build and maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines across Dagster (or Airflow), dbt, and Snowflake, with Python, Airbyte, and AWS.

The role blends building new pipelines and data models with ensuring coverage on critical paths—especially daily Postgres → Snowflake → dbt and third‑party API loads—via reviewed PRs.

Qualifications

• SCD concepts: slow-changing dimensions, full vs incremental loads.
• Experience with building data pipelines and data models.
• Clear, reviewable PRs and thoughtful reviews.

Responsibilities

• Open and merge PRs for Dagster jobs, assets, schedules, and sensors; plus dbt models and tests.
• Tweak infra with Terraform for secrets, env vars, or sizing when needed.
• Build and debug Python pipelines for REST/API syncs, large extracts, Parquet loads, and Snowflake COPY operations.
• Configure or troubleshoot Airbyte connections as needed.
• Monitor production runs; diagnose IAM, OOM, Spot, or watermark issues.
• Run backfills and incremental catch-ups with clear landed-why notes.
• Collaborate on dim/fct/x_fct design with analytics and product.
• Participate in code reviews, runbooks, and release prep.
