Job summary

Bridgeway Benefit Technologies is seeking a Data Engineer (BI) to design, develop, and maintain our data warehouse infrastructure and semantic models, dashboards, and reporting. Remote role with occasional travel; East Coast preference.

You will collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to build secure, scalable data pipelines and self-service analytics across the organization. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data engineering/BI, experience with Databricks, and strong SQL/Python

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering and/or business intelligence experience.
• Experience in Databricks, including DAB and Materialized Views.
• 3+ years designing semantic/dimensional data models and building dashboards and reports in a modern BI platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain semantic data models, metrics layers, and certified datasets for reporting and self-service analytics.
• Define and govern KPIs, calculation logic, and a shared metric glossary for consistency.
• Develop and optimize dashboards/reports in Sigma (primary), with Power BI and Databricks dashboards.
• Define Sigma workspace standards for tenant environments with Platform Engineering.
• Collaborate on data quality, testing, observability, and BI issues resolution.
• Drive BI adoption by training users and monitoring dashboard usage.
• Ensure data security and compliance with RBAC, encryption, masking, and governance best practices.
• Gather requirements and translate into technical specifications and data products.
• Enable analytics/AI/ML use cases via structured data models and platform integrations.
• Collaborate in Agile-Scrum and document technical designs for delivery.
• Build and maintain production dashboards/workbooks in Sigma for reliability.
• Implement row-level security and Entra ID-based access controls.
• Communicate proactively with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
