Job summary

Hite Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Data & Business Intelligence Analyst to support FEMA grant programs. You will transform complex datasets into meaningful insights, develop BI dashboards, and establish performance measures to drive operational improvements.

The role involves collaboration with federal program personnel, data validation, and the automation of reporting processes using Python and BI tools. Remote work flexibility is available, with a preference for DC area candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience; advanced degree may qualify with 4+ years experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, formulas, pivot tables, and analytical reporting.
• Working knowledge of Python, including experience using scripts for data analysis and processing structured datasets.
• Experience with SQL, Microsoft Power BI, or comparable data analytics and BI tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience validating and reconciling complex datasets.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, including explaining analyses to nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable DHS/FEMA Public Trust clearance and system access.

Responsibilities

• Analyze federal grants and operational data to identify trends and generate actionable insights for program leadership.
• Develop dashboards, scorecards, visualizations, and management reports using Excel, Power BI, or other BI tools.
• Establish and maintain performance measures related to grant applications, awards, financial transactions, processing timelines, closeouts, and program workload.
• Collaborate with federal program personnel to understand data sources, reporting requirements, and opportunities to improve data analysis and utilization.
• Validate, reconcile, and organize data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Support development of annual program reporting, including historical analysis and performance metrics.
• Develop repeatable analytic processes and apply Python or other tools to automate calculations and streamline reporting.
• Prepare and communicate analytic findings, trends, and recommendations to program managers and federal leadership.
