Job summary

CFA Institute’s Enterprise Data Analytics team is seeking a Data Analyst to support better business decisions through reliable data and clear reporting. This remote role in Virginia translates structured datasets into trustworthy visualizations, dashboards, and recurring analytics for internal stakeholders.

You will clean and prepare data, build foundational visualizations with Excel, SQL, and Python, and perform QA on reports and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, economics, or a related field.
• Professional experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related analytical role.
• Foundational knowledge of statistics, data wrangling, and visualization using Excel, SQL, and Python.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data preparation and reporting.
• Ability to follow established methods and processes, with judgment to escalate novel or ambiguous issues.
• Effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to present findings clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Strong organization skills to manage multiple tasks under close supervision.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, and document structured datasets for analysis and reporting.
• Build foundational visualizations and dashboards using Excel, SQL, and Python.
• Perform quality assurance on reports and data pipelines, correcting errors before publication.
• Answer routine questions and direct colleagues to documentation on data management and reporting systems.
• Prepare recurring data and analytics reports for internal stakeholders.
