Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team remotely in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports cytogenetic testing and requires a strong background in cancer-related cytogenetics with experience reviewing metaphase spreads.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with standard clinical laboratory responsibilities. Ideal candidates will hold a biology/medical technology degree and have hands-on cytogenetics lab experience, including analysis of metaphase spreads and oncology

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
2 years of Cytogenetics clinical lab experience.
1 year of cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images.
1 year of Oncology cytogenetics experience.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
