Job summary

Labcorp Oncology is seeking a remote Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team focused on oncology chromosomes using Applied Spectral Imaging software and Metasystems Neon for potential FISH analysis. The role is remote within the United States.

Responsibilities include imaging, karyotyping, ISCN-based result summaries, and ensuring compliance with policies. Requires a bachelor’s degree and cytogenetics experience, with ASCP CG preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science, CLs, or medical technology.
• 3 years of cytogenetics clinical lab experience.
• 2 years of cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images.
• 2 years of oncology cytogenetics experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze chromosomes including imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens.
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis.
• Summarize test results using ISCN nomenclature.
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results.
• Troubleshoot, document corrective actions, and comply with policies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
