Job summary

HealthEquity is seeking a Cyber Engineer to secure cloud and network defenses across Azure and Palo Alto environments. You will build automation, write runbooks, and participate in on-call rotations to protect member data and healthcare transactions.

Requires 5+ years in network security, strong Azure networking skills, Palo Alto experience, and experience with AI coding services; remote onboarding with occasional onsite Trailhead sessions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network security engineering or related discipline.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VPN and firewall policy design.
• Direct experience with Azure networking and security services.
• Experience using AI coding services to build automation.
• Ability to communicate risk to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and maintain network security solutions across Azure and Palo Alto Networks.
• Build automation scripts, IaC, and SOAR playbooks to reduce manual effort.
• Monitor telemetry, tune policies, and reduce gaps in the environment.
• Configure Azure network controls and related services.
• Assist with HIPAA, SOC 2, and NIST controls; document runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
