Job summary

HealthEquity, Inc. is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to architect and build our internal AI platform on Microsoft Azure. You will shape reusable AI patterns, write integration code, and deliver AI-powered solutions across IT Engineering.

You will collaborate with security, compliance, and business teams to ensure secure, scalable AI delivery. The role emphasizes hands‑on development, Azure portfolio expertise, and alignment with HIPAA data protection standards, while enabling cross‑functional teams

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 5 years in software or cloud application engineering, with hands-on AI/ML development.
Hands-on experience building AI/ML and LLM-based apps using Azure AI portfolio, RAG, orchestration, prompt engineering, model integration and evaluation.
Hands-on experience using agentic coding assistants like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

Designing and developing AI/LLM-powered capabilities for internal business problems using Azure AI services.
Implementing reusable patterns, frameworks, and guardrails for AI apps (LLMOps/MLOps, observability, cost control).
Collaborating with Security and Compliance to ensure HIPAA-aligned, secure-by-design AI work.
Serving as technical lead and hands-on developer accelerating AI solution delivery.
