Job summary

Fairwinds Technologies is seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer to support a major airborne modernization program. The role focuses on translating complex avionics and mission computing requirements into instructor-led and hands-on training for aircrew, maintenance, and software support teams.

Colleagues collaborate with engineers, SMEs, and government stakeholders to create comprehensive curricula and assessments, ensuring alignment with TOs and system configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Aviation Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Technical Communications, or a related technical discipline.
• Equivalent military and industry experience may be substituted.
• 9+ years of curriculum development experience.
• 5+ years supporting military aviation, avionics, or aerospace programs.
• Experience developing instructor-led and hands-on training solutions.
• Experience with DoD/aviation programs and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive training curricula supporting aircraft and ground system upgrades.
• Create Familiarization (FAM) and Type I training programs for flight crews, maintenance personnel, software maintenance personnel, and ground support personnel.
• Design instructor-led, hands-on, and blended-learning training solutions.
• Develop learning objectives, lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, presentations, practical exercises, and assessments.
• Ensure courseware reflects system functionality, procedures, maintenance requirements, and configuration baselines.
• Coordinate training with government and contractor stakeholders and conduct needs analyses.
• Translate avionics documentation into effective learning materials and ensure synchronization with manuals and software releases.
• Deliver classroom and practical instruction and conduct course evaluations.
• Support training needs analyses and training impact assessments.
