Job summary

Fairwinds Technologies is seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer to create and deliver technical training for aircrew, maintenance, and software support teams on an airborne modernization program.

The role requires translating complex avionics and mission-system requirements into instructor-led and hands-on training, collaborating with engineers, SMEs, and government stakeholders to ensure alignment with TOs and system baselines. Remote work option available for a national audience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or instructional field or equivalent military/industry experience.
• 9+ years of curriculum development experience.
• 5+ years supporting military aviation, avionics, or aerospace programs.
• Experience developing instructor-led and hands-on training solutions.
• Experience with DoD, Air Force, Navy, Army, or foreign military sales programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain training curricula for aircraft and ground systems upgrades.
• Create Familiarization (FAM) and Type I training for flight crews and maintenance staff.
• Design instructor-led, hands-on, and blended-learning training solutions.
• Develop learning objectives, lesson plans, student and instructor guides, and assessments.
• Ensure courseware reflects system functionality, procedures, maintenance and baselines.
• Coordinate reviews with stakeholders and incorporate feedback into training products.
• Translate avionics engineering data into effective learning materials.
• Develop training for radios, SATURN communications, secure voice and cryptographic systems, and mission tools.
• Maintain the Training System Implementation Plan (TSIP).
• Identify audiences, prerequisites, requirements, resources and delivery methods.
