Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead technology strategy, architecture, and the engineering organization for our client in the energy sector. This remote role includes travel to Arizona as required.

You will drive the technical roadmap for microgrid solutions, oversee platforms across hardware, firmware and cloud, and mentor technical leaders to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant systems for mission-critical deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology leadership roles.
• Strong background in energy systems, microgrids, or distributed energy resources.
• Experience building and scaling software platforms and hardware-integrated systems.
• Experience leading remote or distributed teams.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, IoT architectures, and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology vision and roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Lead the design and development of microgrid control platforms and EMS.
• Architect scalable, secure, and resilient systems across hardware, firmware, and cloud layers.
• Build and lead a high-performing, distributed engineering team; establish agile processes.
• Ensure successful product delivery from concept through deployment; manage budgets and vendor partnerships.
